How We Got Started
We have been married for more than 20 years; we moved to North Carolina from Miami, Florida over 10 years ago looking for a better life.
We were blessed to buy our first home during the first year of living in NC. We are a very close family, and we like to do everything together. We are always looking for the next big thing, so we do not have to worry about money anymore.
One night when we were living in Florida one of our daughters put their sneakers in the dryer and the sneakers made such a loud tumbling noise while in the dryer that I could not sleep, it was so bad that I had to turn the dryer off to continue sleeping.
The next day my daughter found her sneakers inside the dryer, wet; she put them outside to dry during the day and had to use a different pair to go to school. Then, the next day I talked to my wife about how to find a way that we can dry the sneakers without that awful tumbling noise, but that conversation just stayed there.
Years later, in the middle of the night, I woke up thinking about that event, and I made some notes for myself. First, I built a prototype from a wood sample that I thought could work for that purpose. I got one piece of long wood with two small pieces at the end and put my daughter’s sneakers on each end, I put them in the dryer to see if it would work, and surprise, surprise, we saw that it worked. I dried my sneakers in the dryer in less time than if I would have put them outside to dry.
I got two pieces of PVC tubing and made a prototype, and that is how we came up with the idea of “No More Tumble.”
